Too good to be true I said but he went ahead anyway and has paid £2 but received an email saying welcome to webbuilder site heres your log in details. He has not logged in but now fears hes been signed up to some subscription without Knowing. Anyone got any experience? I have told him to cancel his card in the first instance.

I think you are unlikely to find many people who have done this tbh.

Probably true but I do think some people will have because otherwise these scams would not exist I guess. No harm in asking just in case although no one might want to admit to it. Yes I know he was stupid but its done now ad all I can hope is its not going to cost him ££££££

I placed two mystery gift boxes on eBay a few years ago to help an artist friend. They had original art inside that she valued at £100's. (not my style in the slightest, I would have valued them at zero in all honesty) The artwork was signed. Moving on 6 years, her work sells for much much more in hip London galleries, and I often wonder if the two recipients ever realised their mystery boxes of art have likely appreciated in value. To be fair the boxes were sold for £25, but it wasn't a scam

From my experience, those ones on Facebook are subscriptions. If he logs into the account he will be able to cancel the subscription. They usually take the first payment around 3 days after you pay the £2. I got caught out once so never again.

Just wondering, did you actually get anything delivered?
