What time do your secondary age children walk in the door from school?

Assuming no clubs/deviating into town/to a mates house.

If they finish school and just walk or get the bus or train home, how long does that take?

Ds1 gets in just before 5pm. There's a 45min wait for the bus and a 50min bus ride. He's OK with it as the stop is just over the road from home but I do wonder sometimes if there is a better way. Technically I could find an hour to go pick him up and drop him back before I carry on. It's not ideal though and would ruin his cred with his mates. He's 13 in Year 8.

i used to have to leave for bus at 7.30am, home around 5.30pm. Long day and a long time on a bus.

If you have the option, maybe you could just pick one day for now when your will collect him, say Fridays.

Finish at 3pm, walks a mile home, gets in anywhere between 3.20 and 3.40 depending on who he is with 😁

Y8 finishes at 3.25 and arrives home an hour later having done a 10 mile journey on a bus (school is 5 miles away) and a five minute walk from the bus stop.

4.45pm Finishes at 3.15 and then has to walk into town and wait until 4.10pm. Bus takes 35 mins.

Y10. Finishes 3.10 usually back home by 3.40. Walks home a mile and a half or so. Is pretty good at the moment in that he'll text if he's going somewhere first.
