If you got a message saying that someone in hospital had "crashed" does that mean they've died?

Not someone I really know-a friend of a friend so I can't ask-but I just want to make sure I respond appropriately.

I’d think they’ve had a cardiac arrest, or a car crash.

I'd say cardiac arrest too, and they needed to be resuscitated (hopefully successfully).

Thank you. I know it's not a car crash- she has been in hospital for a few days, so it sounds like cardiac arrest. Oh, damn.

I would take it to mean a rapid and serious decline in their condition.

Fingers crossed OP. My mum had a cardiac arrest in hospital (unshockable kind) and is alive and well! 💐
