Restaurant recommendations for Cardiff

Planning a few days in Cardiff early next week as other holiday plans have fallen through. Would love some food and drink recommendations for city centre. Totally flexible on cuisine, interested in great food, mid priced rather than fine dining, just me and DP so no kids to think of. Restaurants or pubs with great food would be fab, and need to be open Mon and Tues night

Thanks!

Ansh - phenomenal burgers, just won sustainable food award

If you like tapas Curado and Bar 44 on Westgate Street are both good. Asador 44 is run by the Bar 44 people and is on Quay Street, just off Westgate Street, but I've not bern there. Casanova Italian restaurant, also on Quay Street, I've found to be quite nice. I haven't been to The Potted Pig for ages but it used to be good - it's on High Street

You'd have to check their websites for opening times.

Tŷ Madeira Restaurant is a personal favorite of mine, always great food and atmosphere

We went to the Potted Pig recently and it was a bit mixed - starters were lovely, but three of us had the same main (ribeye steak), and the meat was incredibly salty - so much so that we actually complained. The staff were amazing though.

One place we wanted to try was The Classroom, but it was fully booked. Friends have been and recommended it.

We also wanted to try either Pasture or Parallel (same group, and next to each other) but both were fully booked!

Try Silures out of the city centre in Wellfield Road.

Pasture or Viva Brazil are excellent.
Ty Madeira doesn’t look much from the outside, but the atmosphere, service and food are super. Asador 44 is also another good one, but a tad on the pricey side.
