Wrong Evri Parcel contents!

Margo34 · 12/10/2023 08:24

What to do please?

I have ordered something online and so expected an Evri delivery.

Received the Evri delivery but the contents are not mine - it's someone else's order with their name and address and order contents on the packing slip but my name address and details on the outer parcel box. I suspect the person detailed on the packing slip has my order in their parcel, and I've got there's.

I couldn't find an Faq for this! What should I do?

Contact the charity you purchased from.

They have a contract with Evri and so they have the power to resolve this, nobody else.

The fact that the retailer I purchased from and the retailer for the contents of the Evri parcel differ also suggests to me that it's an Evri issue possibly.

What about the fact that the label on the box was your name and address and it was delivered to you at that address?

Should Evri open every parcel and check that the invoice matches the address label?

Or do you think Evri packaged your item?

I agree with a previous poster, these items are probably packaged up at some central warehouse somewhere.

@QuilBill I'm not sure you read the whole of my response that you partially quoted.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and input!

Yes, I read and understood what you wrote.

Kedece2410 · 12/10/2023 16:52

*Not really. I'm expecting an Evri parcel, I received an Evri parcel.

I don't know the ins and outs of packing, whether the retailer outsource their packing to Evri for example or what's gone wrong. The fact that the retailer I purchased from and the retailer for the contents of the Evri parcel differ also suggests to me that it's an Evri issue possibly*

Who delivered the parcel its not quite clear 🙄

Not sure you could manage to get Evri in that paragraph any more than you have

OP, I’ve read through this a couple of times and I cannot for the life of me see what this has got to do with Evri?
They have delivered a parcel with your name and address on it to your name and address. That’s it - job done.
The contents of the parcel have nothing whatsoever to do with Evri. Your contract is with the person who sold you the goods.

You need to contact the person you bought the goods from, not Evri.

This happened to me a few months ago - I ordered from M&S and got a parcel from ASOS 🤷🏻‍♀️

M&S resent.

Glittertwins · 12/10/2023 16:58

It could actually be a problem made by the courier though.
The vendor will send an advanced shipping notice through for the parcel. That's the label that could then get attached to the wrong parcel when it arrives at the courier.

Well yes that's what I thought but apparently it can't possibly be the case according to the majority of these responses...

Oh I'm glad it does actually happen to others as well then not just me 😆

Presumably you had to return the incorrect parcel you received, did you have to pay postage for that or was it covered?

So companies send their stuff to Evri to package and label?

I didn't know that. Sounds a daft idea if so many mistakes are made.

I haven't read all the replys but I am also interested. This has happend to me. Of course it's Evri's fault a new label has been put on top of the original label.
I got a parcel from Zara I never ordered . My label on top. I could see the same of someone else underneath, rare name. I found her on Facebook.
She was waiting for this parcel to be delivered the next day.
Next day, she got someone else's parcel, new Evri label. Item was not from Zara, some kitchen utensils, so someone has my parcel. I've yet to know what that is as the only place I ordered from said that I would get tracking when it's sent out and I've not had anything. So I have this ladies order and she has someone else's order from a different company. So let's imagine a sorting line when parcels collected and the. New labels are being put on for delivery and are out of sync.
We have both contacted Zara as obviously she wants her goods. I'm happy to send back to Zara but don't want to be out of pocket doing so.

As above, Evri don't pack the boxes, they deliver them. The retailer needs to resolve this.

Evri do relabel though. It's just happened to me. I sent something on eBay, Evri relabelled at the depot and put the label on the wrong box and delivered the wrong item to my buyer.

Not sure why you're repeatedly naming Evri in this thread, it's not their fault the seller gave them a parcel to deliver with the wrong contents. Also lots of companies trade as different businesses.

It is their fault. The routinely relabel parcels at the depots and put the addresses on the wrong box.

Tell that to the person who received a Yankee Candle after I sent him a Scalextric. The correct name and address is on the parcel, just not the label I printed. Evri relabelled during transit and stuck it on the wrong box. I am now fighting Evri to prove they've done that whilst also having to refund my buyer out of my own pocket.
