Let's talk hugs? Friendly or more than friendly?

You hug a friend, you rub their back gently. The hug lingers? I just hug and give a pat on the back with friends, but I don't stroke their back.

What would you class as a friend hug? Or I like you in a different way hug?

There are some people I give a quick ‘friendly’ hug and those I give a longer, warmer hug. It depends on the depth of my friendship with them.

Depends on the friend and the friendship surely? With my three closest friends the back rubbing or having a long hug wouldn't be odd at all, especially if they needed comforting.

With a more casual friend I tend to just go for a quick squeeze. I don't really do the patting thing with anyone, it feels awkward.

Pelvic position is a clue whether a hug is a friend hug or a maybe hug. Friends tend to hold a neutral pelvic position. Pelvis tilts forward for a more intimate hug, and away when the person is uncomfortable.
