Hi I'm currently in a 1 bed flat
It's a upstairs flat and not the best area also
Downstairs neighbour blasts tv loud and is a nightmare.
I have been offered (after 6 long years ) a 2 bed house which has carpets and blinds (as previous tenant just recently decorated ) so they didn't rip them out.
Only thing is I have to move 3 days after I get keys and it's not in the same area I'm in now.
This is house is a 12 min drive away from the area I'm in now and from my dad.
I've accepted this house but I'm worried if I've done the correct thing?
Have I ?
I drive and have a car
It's just weird not being able to walk around the corner to my family.
The house is lovely and has a big back garden and I've never had a house of a garden
Even growing up there wasn't a garden at my house

Absolutely the best thing. 12 minutes drive is nothing if you have a car.

And there's a bus stop right outside for days I didn't fancy driving
It's just the quickness of having to move and I've lived here 6 years
I like the inside of my flat and il probably cry leaving but I know I will love a house

Sounds like you are on your way up. Your Dad will be proud that you are independent I'm sure.

Hi @ringadingdings
You've definitely done the right thing hun, congratulations on your new home! Xx

DresdenDoll · 11/10/2023 13:08

12 minutes is nothing, I thought you were going to say it was 2 hours away. I don't know many people who have family inwalking distance. I think moving is always a bit nerve-wracking but it sounds well worth it. Go for it!

I've never regretted moving away from bad neighbours.

When's the housewarming?!

It's natural for change, even fantastic change to make us anxious.
You know how good this is. Look forward to a garden party, even if it's just you and your dad sitting out there in the sunshine in a few weeks. It'll be fab.

ringadingdings · 12/10/2023 09:51

Thanks everyone I've woken up feeling so excited
Hopefully I have the keys by this time next week
