I think it means the mid point of the week ...so over the hump of Monday and Tuesday ?

Boymum2104 · 11/10/2023 08:46

Wednesday. Once you're over this 'hump' you're over halfway to the weekend!

HoppingPavlova · 11/10/2023 08:46

I’ve always known it to be Wednesdays. For obvious reason.

PuttingDownRoots · 11/10/2023 08:46

Halfway through the Monday to Friday working week.

Longingforthesummer · 11/10/2023 08:46

I read:

A. Mid week
B. leg over day!!!!
C. Humping to the weekend

It's a metaphor which envisages getting through the working week as climbing a hill. Monday and Tuesday are an uphill climb. So is Wednesday, but once it's done you are 'over the hump' and have an easy downhill slide into the weekend.

Winter291 · 11/10/2023 08:46

Wednesday. The ‘hump’ in the middle of the week.

FuckingHellAdele · 11/10/2023 08:46

Wednesday- the 'hump' of the working week.

Monday/ Tuesday you're moving upwards, Wednesday you reach the hump of the hill, Thursday/Friday downhill all the way to the weekend!

SayNoToDoorToDoor · 11/10/2023 08:46

Remember the bell chart curve? Wed is in the middle so maximum stress day or the biggest point of the week. Weekend is chilled so lowest points.

Not obvious for me 😂

Its looking at Wednesday as the high part of a bridge, if you work Monday to Friday. Halfway there in other words. I think it was originally an American term but because hump is a euphemism for sex in the UK, people tend to jest a little around it.

Broodywuz · 11/10/2023 08:47

Midway through the week, I have an imagine in my head of Monday and Tuesday being like going up a hill, Wednesday you're at the top off the hill/hump and Thursday Friday are heading down the other side.

Whiskyinajar · 11/10/2023 08:49

I call it "over the hill day" as I work full time. So it's count down to the weekend after that.

Longingforthesummer · 11/10/2023 08:50

Brill thanks everyone

It means the middle of the week

But to those of us with a filthy mind it sounds like a naff instruction to shag
