Does anyone know about Access to Work grants?

I've been awarded AtW grants, but I'm stumped, how do I get at the money?

Is it paid in arrears?

I was processing one at work last year. They don't pay all the costs, the employer has to pick some up, but I assume yours has been agreed. Paid in arrears, you pay up front and claim back.

Annoyingly they are so behind the times that it had to be done by post, not electronically. My staff member had taxis to work covered, so she would send me scans of receipts to look at and the form. I'd wet sign the form having printed it and post it back to her, she'd then send it in to access to work with the receipts for reimbursement. We hadn't hit the point at which we had to cover by the time I left.
