Is this level of tiredness normal after such a short G.A?

I was put under general anaesthetic yesterday for about fifteen minutes.

I am still tired today. I am self employed and have managed a couple of clients but I've napped in between and when I woke from my nap just now I thought I was just waking after the G.A, slowly drifted around realising I was at home.

Wanted to go to the gym or walk the dog today too but have zero energy! I didn't expect this at all. I've never been under before.

Yes, it’s quite usual to feel exhausted, I don’t think it matters the duration, they are pretty powerful drugs they use. It’s always taken me at least a couple of days to feel more me.

You might find that you're not so coordinated or that it's difficult to think clearly. This should pass within 24 hours. In the meantime, don't drive, drink alcohol, operate machinery or sign anything important. You may feel tired or even exhausted after a general anaesthetic, and this might last for a few days.

I've only had GA twice in my life, and only once where I remember (the first time I was a young child). The second time I was a teenager and it was for dental work. I had the GA on a Thursday, and though I came round and went home on the same day, I literally slept more or less solidly through to the Monday morning! I woke up for short spells but spent about 18 or 20 hours asleep every day for 3 days. It really can take it out if you.

Thank you both

I guess I didn't expect it because yes, the drug was so strong but it was for about fifteen minutes ffs!
