Oven on vs slow cooker on.

I'm going out this afternoon, and thinking of leaving my oven on a low heat so my casserole can cook? Do any of you do this? I used to leave my slow cooker on all the time when I had one and didn't give it a second thought. Is the oven different from a safety perspective?

No, I do do this, although less so since the price of electricity has gone up so much.

I even leave my new best friend the pressure cooker home alone for an hour or so.

For me this isn't about the oven but your electrics overall. If you feel that your electrics are up to date and safe so if there was an issue with the oven the RCD would trip and just shut it off then I would happily leave the oven on and have done.

Well I ended up turning the oven off and the casserole cooked anyway. Was a lovely surprise upon arriving home.
