Do you talk shop at home?

DP and I are in similar corporate environments, similar level middle management jobs. Every night we share shop drama, sometimes reliving the stress of it. I feel like I get no break and yet it inevitably it comes up and takes over our dinner conversation.

We are empty nesters and apart from sole exercise, there are no other distractions in our lives Mon - Fri. Weekends are OK, we forget about it (mainly). Is this normal? Anyone else has managed to ban shop talk at home for good?

No, we don't. (Our dc also grown up).
We are very busy with things we both do outside of work though, which will probably affect it.

What else do you do that might distract you from work ?

Kind of.... he's in retail, I work in a men's prison.....we both just moan about people!

We do not do anything else on weekday, by time we got home, exercised, washed and made dinner, it’s pushing 8, them it’s clean up and crashed for an hour. I have no idea how I managed to raise a kid and complete a Master working full years back, I have literally minimum responsibilities now and no free time on workdays.
