Would you consider thus enough food?

Dc2 said hus teacher commented that he didn't have much in hus lunchbox, so gave him sone crackers and cheese. He ate the crackers, left the fruit and yogurt in his lunchbox.....

There is often food left over so I have cur back, fir example if I put a packet of crisps in, they'll open them, eat a few and leave the rest. Sandwiches, they'll eat part of but not all (mostly dc1)

I've just made tomorrow's lunch and it just doesn't look a lot but I'm so fed up of waste.

They have a decent breakfast. They take a snack for break (don't always eat ir, but will be flapjack, brunch bar, rice Crispin bar, granola bar etc)

Tomorrow's lunch

Dc1 has a ham cheese and salad wrap. Plenty of ham. Yogurt. Apple. Blue riband.

Dc2 - ham, cucumber, mayo wrap. Yogurt, apple, penguin.

Full sized wraps, not the mini ones dc are 6 and 8

Sounds plenty!

Yep about right

It sounds 100% normal.

Thanks, it just looks poor in their lunch bags. Hopefully the teacher doesn't think I'm starving them!

I think lunch bags make everything look smaller. Trust your judgement, you know their appetites. Also I think it sounds like a good lunch, especially if there's a snack available too.

DD is 12 and has...
Chicken salad roll
Melon
Flapjack
Cookie
Smoothie

So not much more, and she'll be in school 8-4 tomorrow.
She packs her own lunch.

Tomorrow my five year old has Chicken and Sweetcorn Pasta. Grapes. Cucumber sticks. Yoghurt and smoothie.

Today he had a beef Baguette, orange and Grapes, carrot sticks, a Yoghurt, smoothie and a small packet of Choc fingers.

Also has Crackers and cheese, or apples and orange or crackers and raisins for mid morning snack.

He eats it all. My DM said I give him too much but when he comes home with an empty lunch box having clearly eaten it all then I don't think it is. You know how much your own child eats and no two children are the same.

Bemyclementine · 09/10/2023 22:49

@Namechange20100 thus is the thing, I think they are at an age where they want to get out and play, when they were younger it seemed like they ate more.

Either way, they won't starve!

Sounds fine. Tomorrow 5yo has a cheese dipper, 4 mini sausages, cucumber, grapes and a packet of crisps. 9yo has cheese sandwich, 2 biscuits, 4 mini sausages, cucumber and grapes.
