Is this a Vinted scam?

I bought a dress on Vinted a few days ago. The seller had no reviews. The seller said they'd posted the item and they sent me an image of a tracking slip from Royal Mail. But the slip has someone else's name and address on it. I manually entered the tracking number into the Royal Mail app and it seems this relates to an item that had been delivered months ago to someone else.

I’ve asked the seller what’s going on but no response. And the original listing for the dress has now disappeared from vinted even if I try to access the listing through my messages. Other items I have bought are clickable from my messages and appear in the original listing with a big green sold across the picture.

The seller has my name, address and phone number. Is this part of some scam? Or just a crap seller?

I have just realised now that the member has been blocked. Very strange. They have my details. What can they do with them?

I had the exact same thing happen. I just started a dispute. Vinted said I had to wait so many days before I could report. I let them know the details and they refunded me straight away. I don't understand the point of the scam as funds don't released until the buyer confirms receipt 🤷‍♀️

If you look on the forum part underneath your Vinted profile then members questions and answers lots of help by members who have had the same experience . Yes it is a scam .

I’m guessing they hope you pay by other means or you mark it as ok . Also if on Facebook join Vinted sellers and buyers uk . Also lots of useful info on there .
