Classmate taking my child's snacks

Hi all,
How do you deal with a child taking your childs snack?
My DD informed me that her friend asks for snacks and she was happy to share so I was giving more snacks but today my daughter told me her friend simply took everything.

If your child doesn't feel able to say no, then talk to the teacher and ask that they stop it from happening.

Speak to the teacher. There could be more going on here than meets the eye.

You don't say how old your DC is, but at our primary, food can't be shared because of the risks from cross-contamination and allergies. Your DC should have told a teacher that her friend took all her food. Going forward, give her one snack that she can't share.

In most schools they have rules against sharing food. Encourage your child to refuse to share and to tell a teacher if the child takes her snack. If it continues then you need to bring it up with her teacher.

PokeMeAgain · 09/10/2023 16:26

Tell your child to stop sharing and tell the teacher what has been happening re taking all the snack previously.

Forgot to say she is 5 years old.

Try to get her to tell the teacher when these things happen herself, but until she’s ready to do that, you do it for her.

Sounds like bullying. The school has a responsibility to keep an eye out and stamp on it!

Sugargliderwombat · 09/10/2023 16:53

Schools don't let children share food, so just let the teacher know.

Talk to the teacher. Could be the child is t being fed at school. Not your responsibility but if school know they might be able to help. And if it is greed they can also fix that
