gift for 16 year old girl

what are your 16 year old girls into? Friends daughter turns 16 soon and I'm looking for gift ideas. I was going to put £50 in a card, but that's a bit dull I guess? Any ideas? a what would your 16 yr old appreciate for her birthday?

I'd love it and at this age cash or something you 100% know she wants would make the best gift.
My niece is 15 and she's into makeup and trying out various hairstyles and colors, so I got her a set of washable hairsprays on her Birthday and she was over the moon about it. Her mom got her tickets to a couple of shows she was dying to attend.
If there are any bands or artists your DD likes, you can look for the tickets or something related to them. Clothing items from their official stores, signed CDs, books about them etc. You can do something yourself, too, like make a big poster from a picture of her favorite artist or a poster calendar with their photos. That assuming she likes decorating her room with things like that.
