8yo, tummy ache before bed every night for past 10 nights

Was poorly with cough and cold (not covid) 3 weeks ago. Got better but has complained of a tummy ache every night for 10 nights. Sometimes accompanied by nausea but no actual sickness.

She is fine during the day, eating normally and toileting normally. She isnt worried or stressed or upset about anything, she hasn't missed any school.

No allergies (she outgrew her CMPI by age of 3), doesn't seem to be down to anything she is eating. She isnt writhing in agony but has needed Calpol some nights.

Could this just be an odd presentation of a bug? Something that needs a GP appointment?

There hasn't been a single complaint of illness during the day but its like clockwork every night about 8pm.

Noone else is poorly.

I had this as a child & was diagnosed with generalised anxiety disorder which presented in physical symptoms such as stomach ache & diarrhoea. Definitely worth a trip to the GP. Best of luck, hope she feels better soon!

Thank you for the reply @Boymum2104

Did you have anxiety symptoms? Or was it purely physical?

I'm just perplexed and feel given the actual lack of symptoms we'd just be fobbed off by the GP.

Edited

It was purely physical & genuine pain and discomfort. At certain times of the day, going in to certain shops & restaurants was a real trigger. Definitely don't think I would have been seen as an 'anxious' child otherwise

Check there is no pain on their right hand side. My son had that and it was his appendix.
