Having such a hard time struggling to cope with my 18 month old at the moment. She used to sleep great but that's recently gone to pot. Now she wakes constantly and I'm exhausted.

Currently typing this out with tears streaming down my face as she sleeps on my shoulder. If I put her down she wakes. I've been here since 7pm trying.

I feel absolutely awful. Please be kind, I had to delete my last thread due to some shitty comments.

@JockTamsonsBairns why would sleep training be hell?

I probably didn't word it very well.

It felt a bit like "hell" for the first couple of nights though, if I remember correctly (mine are teenagers now).

I recall the first night being really hard, sitting outside DD's room, going in at timed intervals, with the intervals gradually getting longer. That was a long night. I questioned the approach so many times that night, and was close to caving in. I had to steel myself from lifting her out the cot and pacing the floor with her - as I'd done previously.
Night two, much of the same, but she settled earlier.
Night three, she was getting the hang of it more.
By night four, we'd cracked it. Stories, cuddle, said night night, and off she went to sleep for 12 hours solid.

It worked brilliantly for us, and I'm glad I did it.
