Didn't hear back from hospital or doctor, do I presume it's not cancer

My GP referred me for a mole removal and I got that done a nearly 3 months ago. The surgeon at the time said, if it's atypical they will call me back in. I didn't hear from the hospital and I presume the results were sent to my GP. I didn't hear from my GP either. No call or email with the results. Do I just presume it's not cancerous?

I think for peace of mind give your GP a call.

Have you got access to records via nhs app - that shows any correspondence

It should show in the nhs app. It's probably labelled histology?

Phone your GP surgery to get the results tomorrow. Most likely everything OK but always best to follow results up as mistakes can happen

When I didn't receive the results of a biopsy from the consultant, I contacted PALS and had the consultant's secretary on the phone within the hour, saying it had got lost on his desk and I'd now get the letter. Luckily it was nothing serious. No harm in ringing PALS to ask how long you should expect to wait.

Worth checking. I received no letter following up results of a scan, chased and found the letters were written but mine not sent to me but apparently had been to gp and referral clinic. However subsequently neither had received their letters either. You cannot assume anything.

Always check…just in case you’ve slipped through the net.
