Can anyone suggest a good diary for my phone. I just want something simple where I can jot down appointments etc

The built in calendar app is as good as any if you just want to note appointments.

I use the calendar app, even for reminders, and set up alerts for things that I need to do at certain times and my phone notifies me. I have a personal calendar, which only I can see, and DH set up a family account on there so we all pop things in that we all need to be aware of. It's really handy.

I use Google calendar. You can share them with others too. I can see my stuff in there and the joint stuff that both DH and I can put in.

Have a good explore of the Calendar app.

On the iPhone I make full use of entering appointments, adding reminders, repeating weekly appointments until a certain date, using colour for different categories of appointment, etc.

I also have a paid app called Calendars because I like the way I can see a whole month at a time. It takes the information from my iPhone calendar.

I really like FamilyWall!

I have different calendars (and email addresses) because of the different roles I have: part-time job, charity trustee, school governor. I’m starting a new job (new email, new calendar) in a couple of weeks and my husband has complicated travel arrangements. It’s driving me crazy. Is it possible to bring multiple personal calendars together as well as join my husbands calendar? How???

Massivescreen · 07/10/2023 09:42

We use the one that is there on the iPhone, you can share your calendar with others and allow them to add/modify/delete appointments. So my DP and I both share a calendar and it’s there as the “one version of the truth” in terms of what’s in the joint household calendar. No complaints.

I use Week Planner - look in the App Store, it has a blue cover with 2023 at the bottom. It’s just like a paper diary but on your phone

So can I share my own different calendars with a ‘master’ calendar that my husbands calendar also speaks to? I’m trying to avoid having to make the same entry into different calendars. Aldi, the calendar in my iPhone - how does it know which email account to link to? Gosh I feel really thick. I just don’t get it

OP I’m very sorry to have gatecrashed your thread. I’ll bugger off if I’m in the way

Yes- you can have multiple calendars. Eg I have my own calendar (think the appointments go in in a pink colour), and then we share a “home” calendar - you do that by creating it and inviting whoever you want to invite by email and they accept the link. My Oh can’t see my own calendar but we can both see the “home” appointments (think they are blue). In practice it’s all on the same screen. Does that make sense ? Have a go !
