Anyone else’s Car Insurance almost double/triple?

I’m having palpitations at the cost of my car insurance increase. I’ve had my renewal through which was double what I paid last year. I’m going on the comparison sites and they’re quoting over £900. I paid £380 last year.

I’m 47, had my license for over 28 years, never had an accident, never had points on my license, I’ve had the same car since 2018, no change it address/job etc (everything is the same) and this is the crap they’re quoting me with 🤷🏼‍♀️

Anyone else in this position? I’d like to say they may have given their staff a pay rise due to the cost of living, but I know someone within the industry and it’s still badly paid 😏
I’m stumped.

Mine has nearly doubled with Hastings, to nearly £1000.

I'm trying to summon the energy to ring them to see what they can do, as last year when I did it was a nightmarishly long call to someone with terrible call quality, and more than one accidental disconnection.

@FFSWhatToDoNow oh that's interesting I didn't know that.
£425 to £1050 is absolutely outrageous, I'm mid 40's and never had an accident.

Just got a quote from Direct line - £2500 for a 9 year old Audi Shock. No wonder they offer to replace the car like for like when they are practically getting 30% of its value every year ( to be fair this does include a new driver).

I'm late 40s and drive a 4 yo Tucson.
Paid 299 last year. Got charged 50 extra to add my newly passed daughter on for 6 months. Then they wanted 750 to renew.

Shes gone to uni so I took her off the policy. And it dropped. To 190! So I've just renewed at 100 less than last year.
