Oh dear, I may have done something rash

A male friend (acquaintance really) has booked a physical challenge event in a foreign city for next spring. He put the details on FB and asked if anyone wants to join him.

For various reasons something to train for and look forward to plus a trip away might be just what I need ATM. We have lots of mutual friends and when he's done these things in the past there's usually been a big group, althoguh ive never joined before. I've booked the event at a cost of E120, committed to the accomodation costs and just need to arrange flights.

It seems it may just be me and him! In the spirit of adventure, what's the worst that can happen? If nothing else, it will keep the gossips occupied for a while. They'll think all their Christmases have come at once 🤣 We're both single BTW so no one else's feelings to be considered.

We've both got a really tough physical challenge to do while we're away. He might be Ok because he's done loads and he's an ex squaddie who seems to be able to keep going even when broken, but I'm going to be a wreck. No use to him at all 😆 It will genuinely be good to have someone with his experience to "look after" me though. I do travel alone a lot, but I don't think I'd do this alone.

He will definitely look after me if I had the kind of crisis that needed it, just as any club member would and I would for him.
