What curry do you get from the Indian takeaway?

Tonight I'm having an Indian, I get the same things on rotation... Biryani, Jalfrezi, Dhansak.

I want to try something new but I don't know what to try - tell me about your favourite and sell it to me!

Chicken or lamb bhuna with naan bread😊

mynameiscalypso · 06/10/2023 16:01

I like similar curries to you and I order a chicken tariwala from our local.

Ilovelurchers · 06/10/2023 16:04

I am from the West Mids and I always have a Balti. It's one of our regional dishes and it's lush - comes with lots of sauce. You get different flavoured ones in some places, so you can have a madras balti, a pathia balti etc etc.

Blueuggboots · 06/10/2023 16:05

Paneer nutty special - it's like a rogan josh and delicious!!

Disorganisedmess2023 · 06/10/2023 16:07

Chicken pathia - it's quite spicy and a little bit sweet. Lush!

Tandoori chicken pieces.

To be honest, I prefer all the sundries.

Yes. Sauce comes separately. Also love a decent Butter Chicken. Tho neither might be spicy enough for you

Neverinamonthofsundays · 06/10/2023 16:12

DP: Vindaloo with peas pilaf
Me: Dopiaza with pilau or rogan josh
Oldest teen: Shares vindaloo with dad
Two youngest just basmati and chicken tenders with plain naan
We also get a keema naan and a garlic naan.

That's what I was going to say! My current favourite. I also like a bog standard lamb rogan josh. I wish I was having curry for dinner now instead of sausages.

dontforgetme · 06/10/2023 16:17

Chicken pathia. Dribbled writing that.

ErinAndTonic · 06/10/2023 16:18

I've heard good things about a Pathia. Not tried one before. They all sound great tbh - maybe I need to try making some of the others myself!

Korma or passanda. I'm boring

babybunny123 · 06/10/2023 16:21

Bashatreetkids · 06/10/2023 16:21

Palek paneer bindhi baker lamb bhuna spicy chilli masala keema rice keema naan

Lavender14 · 06/10/2023 16:21

I'm not a huge fan of Indian but I love a chicken bhuna or a korma..

Bashatreetkids · 06/10/2023 16:22

Shami kebab. Mushroom rice. Biryani

AllProperTeaIsTheft · 06/10/2023 16:25

Usually a balti or a saag bhuna. I like plenty of sauce, but nothing too hot or too mild, and nothing creamy.

MyMitMoo · 06/10/2023 16:26

Chicken tikka madras 👌
The chicken pieces are marinated in tikka marinade but the sauce is a madras sauce.

Scutterbug · 06/10/2023 16:28

Lamb bhuna is my fave!

EduCated · 06/10/2023 16:29

If they have it, a chicken sagwalla. Currently from my local, vegan tikka masala with sag (I can’t do dairy).

Or sometimes have a tarka daal, sag aloo, and a chicken tikka starter, for the main.

I like spinach Grin

DeadButDelicious · 06/10/2023 16:30

Mushroom bhuna and either a cheese or peshwari naan (let's be honest here probably both 😂), poppadoms with dips and onion bahji.

Dammit now I want a curry! But I can't because I'm going the pictures tonight. Humph. 😂😂

TheShellBeach · 06/10/2023 16:31

Chicken Korma,
Tarka Dal,
Lamb Bhuna,
Pilau Rice,
Prawn Something-or-other - I can't remember it ATM.

Bubbleses · 06/10/2023 16:32

I love a Ceylon! Coconutty - like a spicy korma!
