Doing plumbing job yourself?

Has anyone here tackled a plumbing job themselves?

I have a kitchen tap that is leaking when the lever is pulled up and needs replacing.
I rang a plumber earlier in the week. He didn't respond to me. I got in touch with another plumber and he gave me a rough estimate and asked me do I need a tap replacement and he said he will be with me on Friday and he was a no show.

I checked you tube and there are videos showing how to disconnect a tap and take it out and other videos showing how to put a new tap in.

My only concern is that I may not have the body to maneuver into the back of the kitchen cupboard under the sink. Another concern is that I may not have the strength to loosen bolts that have been intact for approx 15 years.

I am free on Sunday. I could buy a tap and a set of spanners and a wrench and get the job done without all this fucking around phoning plumbers and waiting around for a no show.

Did anyone here tackle a plumbing job themselves?

Yes, I tackle most DIY jobs myself but my Dad used to be a builder and is only a few streets away if I fuck up, which, fortunately, has never happened because I usually realise I'm in over my head before I get to the stage of fucking up and call for help.

Replacing a tap was one of the easier jobs. I didn't need to call for backup. Watch a few YouTube videos before you start and have one up on your phone ready to refer back to while you're working and you'll be fine.

You probably don’t need to replace the whole tap though, it might just need a new cartridge if it’s a mixer tap. That would be a lot easier than fitting a new tap.

The YouTube videos are great but I always find I'm not physically strong enough
