DD, DH and I are having slow cooked squid stew with crusty bread. https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/squid-prawn-chickpea-nduja-stew
DS said it sounds revolting and is having fish finger sandwiches. His loss, all the more for us.
Then we’ve got vintage Gouda and chocolate truffles for pudding in front of the TV because the new series of Ghosts is starting tonight 🙂

That looks amazing, I might give it a go this weekend. I love squid.

Tonight it is Gennaro's butter nut squash lasagna.

Oh we love Ghosts I didn't know there was a new series DD will be delighted 😁.

We are having home made steak and ale pie with jacket potatoes.

I never cook on Fridays

Paynefully · 06/10/2023 13:47

Fried whole grain rice with chicken, courgettes and blue cheese

DelilahBucket · 06/10/2023 13:49

Spicy spaghetti Bolognese for us.

Decafflatteplease · 06/10/2023 13:50

Friday night means pizza Friday in our house! So pizza chips and salad. Then we always watch a film with the teens or have a games night and always treats. Tonight it's crisps and dips, and sweets. It's a good way for us all to spend time together

afaloren · 06/10/2023 13:54

Getting back from holiday today and we always treat ourselves to a Chinese as one last night of indulgence!

mindutopia · 06/10/2023 13:56

Tonight we are having baked salmon with lemon rice and some sort of green veg from the garden, plus baked feta with tomatoes and green olives.

Unless I lose the will to live again like last night and go spend some stupid amount on curries from Waitrose because I can't cope with cooking.

fedupallthisrubbish · 06/10/2023 13:59

Baked salmon, peppers and noodles

FutureDays · 06/10/2023 14:02

Satay chicken skewers with sticky rice and veggies

bonbon2023 · 06/10/2023 14:02

Fry up

SunshineIndoors123 · 06/10/2023 14:47

Carbonara and garlic baguette tonight (because I am cooking)...tomorrow is more exciting, DH is making paella. We have some hake, prawns and laungastines for it and I can't wait. It is my absolute favourite thing DH cooks, and he cooks a lot of amazing food.

Dottydoodoo · 06/10/2023 14:56

We are having chicken, ham and leek pie (courtesy of Aldi) with roast potatoes and veggies, and lots of gravy! I've had a rotten cold all week but feeling a bit better today and craving comfort food 😋

FractiousPangolin · 06/10/2023 14:59

We are usually meat free on Fridays, so I will be rummaging through the veg drawer to make a tomato and vegetable sauce for pasta. Grated cheese and crispy fried breadcrumbs on top.

GreenTuraco · 06/10/2023 15:17

No idea yet but I've got a bag of spinach and some courgettes to use up so suggestions please

SallyWD · 06/10/2023 15:50

The Stilton fajita recipe from The Green Roasting Tin book. One of my favourites!

HBZ287 · 06/10/2023 16:38

@GreenTuraco - how about spanakopita, using both courgette and spinach.

These threads are old as methuselah and sorta ongoing. Always good to have new ideas.

Ok Charlie!!! The thread I linked called 'Whats for dinner' was from 2 days ago, hardly an old thread I dragged up from years ago!!! 😂🙄

48Times11 · 06/10/2023 16:45

Today i am doing cheeseburgers (homemade) with a side salad and fries.

I am also batch cooking chicken and mushroom casserole for the freezer.

This weekend I am making Julia Child's spinach soup and next week i am making greek chicken, lemon and rice soup.

Tomorrow for lunch (inspired by the 'who on earth goes to McDonalds?' [sic] thread we are doing McDonalds for lunch because the Dcs have a fixture and they need some sort of something to look forward to after it.

QueeniePlumtree · 06/10/2023 16:48

Last night

Stuffed Pork Fillet wrapped in Prosciutto with Potato Dauphinoise, Broccoli and Green Beans

Tonight

Posh Fish Finger Subs with Tartare Sauce, Pickled Gherkins and Fries 🍟

I think you’ve missed my point, but okay! 🙄😂

SM4713 · 06/10/2023 17:11

Sorry Charlie, I understand what you mean now! 😜

Cowlover89 · 06/10/2023 17:19
