Lee Evans

Bob Monkhouse.

Lee Evans made me laugh so much I spat my drink out over the person in front of me. I was absolutely mortified and could not stop apologising. Luckily the bloke was lovely and laughing his head off at me. Needless to say I didn't have another sip of my drink throughout the rest of the show.

Katherine Ryan I don't find funny at all. I could drink to my hearts desire at one of her shows.

MariePaperRoses · 06/10/2023 08:45

All modern comedians are crap. One long standing one has to be Jo Brand. Poor delivery, long winded and absolutely nothing remotely amusing in what she says.

Idontgiveashitanymore · 06/10/2023 08:46

Ricky gervais - overrated
michael macintire - Prat
leigh Francis lemon - obnoxious and full of himself
kathryn Ryan -annoying

Justleaveitblankthen · 06/10/2023 08:48

I was thinking about French & Saunders the other day.
I don't think Jennifer Saunders is funny at all. Absolutely hated Ab Fab.

I think that Dawn French carried the sketches and the make up and costumes were brilliant.

Has she ever done stand up like Dawn sometimes does?
Am prepared to be corrected if I watch some shows.

It's far quicker to mention the ones I do find extremely funny - most of the time - who are:

Peter Kaye
Sarah Millican

No longer working:

Billy Connoly - my all time favourite, he never failed to make me laugh!

No longer with us:

Victoria Wood - my second favourite, and so multi-talented.

No longer with us, and way back when:

Kenny Everett - against both mine and my Dear departed Mum's better judgement, he could have us almost wetting outselves.

Dave Allen - and may your God go with you.

Double Acts - whenever:

Morcombe and Wise - at the time, I no longer find all of the re-runs so funny!

Ronnie Barker and Ronnie Corbett - but also very funny in individual sit coms.

Americans:

Robin Williams - Such a lovely person in so many ways, who brought joy to so many people. I first saw him in Mork and Mindy, I loved that programme - Nanu Nanu Mork/Robin ❤️

Danny Kaye

I love Emily Atack (saw her live in Brighton )
Love Mausie Adams (saw her live too) but on TV only ever saw her as part of a show like MtW.
Kevin Bridges - saw his latest show trying new material for his new DVD , most of it worked , couple of erm bits .

I watch YouTube videos of Jimmy Carr , his older stuff , he is crude but people don;t go to his gigs expecting anything else . And surprising how many younger teens there and families of adults + their paremts too .

But
Rosie Jones has me reach for the off switch .
What will you not expect to hear from a childrens TV presenter ( or whatever the wording was)
RJ- "Hello cunts"

And the others almost pissing themselves laughing Hmm

Cocolapew · 06/10/2023 08:49

The only funny women I can think of are French and Saunders, Victoria Wood and Joan Rivers.

Zodfa · 06/10/2023 08:56

Most of the guys who were big in the noughties.

This a million % - someone looked at me like I'd drowned a puppy when I bemoaned not watching last leg one Friday coz she was due to be on.
Fair play to her for achieving what she has against the odds but I can't watch her

I don't think she has done anything, "against the odds". She has made herself a huge shiny disability card so she can embarrass people in to laughing at her not funny 'jokes'.

She was happy to use the 'R' word even when told by disability groups not to and jokes about dribbling on people.

I wish she would just go away.

koalaknickers · 06/10/2023 09:02

Sam Kinison - just endless screaming.
Frank Hill - too surreal for me.

I didn't get Tom Allen for the longest time, I'd have to change the channel when he was on as I didn't find him funny at all. He looked uncomfortable and it made me feel on edge. Then almost overnight I thought he was really funny, I love him now! I'm still not sure whether he improved or my sense of humour changed.

Totally agree, I turn off Extra Slice after he's finished!

HelpMeGetThrough · 06/10/2023 07:31

Alan Carr, dick head.

Saw John Bishop live and was very underwhelmed, he wasn't that funny. All he talked about was how he couldn't believe his success. I sat there thinking the same thing.

@HelpMeGetThrough adults can hardly ever make me laugh - but I find young children and animals very funny (maybe partly because they are not trying to be funny) - and I found your last two sentences funny too, enough to make me chuckle, so thank you 😁🌻

Lou670 · 06/10/2023 09:07

Before I even read what you posted and saw the title I immediately thought Lee Evans!

notthisagainn · 06/10/2023 09:10

Soooo many. The woman from bridesmaids. Lee evans. Michael macintyre. Lee Mac. Victoria wood. Mel and sue. Trying hard to think of anyone I do find funny

Can you actually name 2 funny female comedians?

There are a number who make not just their living but their fortune from comedy. Millions
of non-misogynists find them funny.

No doubt you’ve never seen a good female doctor either.

TeaAndStrumpets · 06/10/2023 09:11

Agree Eddie Izzard, used to like him very much for his scatty humour but he just seems sad and unfunny now.

I never liked Ken Dodd on the TV but was persuaded to see him live once. It was a revelation. Surreal and hilarious. He certainly gave good value, his shows would overrun massively as he just kept going on and on!

Victoria Wood, bless her she was amazing. I can recommend the recent biography. She was so talented but also a tremendous perfectionist. She worked hard at hercraft.

Kenny Everett RIP such a funny man. He would never get shown now I suppose.

Back to who I dislike, Miranda has been mentioned a few times...cringeworthy sums it up.

Oioicaptain · 06/10/2023 09:13

Frankie Boyle. Nasty piece of work. I saw him once at a festival and he made utterly vile jokes about Jade Goody dying from cervical cancer, shortly after she had died. He was so crass and disgusting. No intelligence to his humour. Just a lot of swearing and nastiness. I left the tent in disgust after a couple of minutes. Vile vile man.

Growlybear83 · 06/10/2023 09:14

Morecambe and Wise, Billy Connolly, and most of all, Victoria Wood.

greyhairnomore · 06/10/2023 09:15

Oioicaptain · 06/10/2023 09:15

Oh and Keith Lemon. I have never understood the appeal.

Growlybear83 · 06/10/2023 09:16

And Dawn French and Alan Carr.

Truffles15 · 06/10/2023 09:21

Lee Evans
I also cannot watch him … the sweat, the strange body contortions
Never found Russell Brand funny
Frankie Boyle
Russell Howard
Jimmy Carr (cruel and overly sexual)
