I really should have heeded the warnings..

How long will it last?!

Ouch, I hope it isn’t too painful! I used to eat a whole pack deliberately to bring on diarrhoea in my disordered eating days (not recommended). Then the last time I tried it I think they’d changed the recipe or something and there was no diarrhoea just absolutely agonising trapped wind and cramps for hours. God that was awful. Cured my laxative habit though!

Fullofpudding · 05/10/2023 23:04

Oh god is it the foam sweets? I literally thought I'd shit out my whole stomach, intensities, bowel, liver and colon when I ate a whole pack!!

12 - 24 hours. Diarrhoea relief capsules will help to stop it quicker.

ShitMermaid · 05/10/2023 23:08

I always get constipated so these sweets might actually help me!

ShellySarah · 05/10/2023 23:08

Sorbitol?

I'd see if you have any sudocrem

It's not easy. It'll give you a stomach ache too. A bad one.

WhoWants2Know · 05/10/2023 23:13

Been there. Be grateful you're at home and not out in public.

Houseplanter · 05/10/2023 23:29

@LunaNorth that made me laugh..

They're not wrong

Haha, I was about to post that! Hilariously worded reviews.

I made a similar mistake years back with a box of sugar free sweets.

Sodullincomparison · 05/10/2023 23:40

Oh yes. Been there on a day trip to Staten Island. I can tell you were all the loos are in that park. All from a handful of sugar free sweeties. I didn’t make the connection until the next day when I looked in my bag.

Good Luck OP. Hope the cramps stop soon.

Underminer · 06/10/2023 00:07

Also been there. My insides fell out, I thought I was just going to be like a shell of skin and skeleton and other organs.

TheWristBoundLatexBitch · 06/10/2023 00:10

Excessive consumption causes laxative effects. The warnings there (I've definitely never made the same mistake 👀)

Underminer · 06/10/2023 00:11

Although now thinking of getting some to give out at Halloween to the greedy shit who has bullied my son when he comes round knocking on the door 🤔

McIntire · 06/10/2023 07:07

dementedpixie · 05/10/2023 22:53

There are usually warnings that excessive consumption may have a laxative effect. Its the polyols they use as a sugar substitute that causes it E.g . sorbitol

It’s a revelation. I don’t eat sweets but wondering if my DC’s know this!

Is it in Diet Coke? A can of that always ‘triggers’ me

Houseplanter · 06/10/2023 08:33

Well it seems the final rinse and spin may have been in the early hours and I've managed a few hours sleep.

Won't be making that mistake again!

Luckily I cannot eat anything Haribo as they are obsessed with gelatine but I have had problems in the past with sugar free mint sweets. Anything with Sorbitol or Xylitol is the Devil's work!!!

GoddamReylos · 06/10/2023 16:40

In my household the Aldi sugar free sweet range are known as “fart sweets”. I couldn’t work out why I was so windy and then my DD started up and I remembered the strawberry and cream sweets we’d been eating in the car.

FatherJackHackettsUnderpantsHamper · 06/10/2023 16:41

Oh dear 😬 ..Is it sorbitol ? have had to warn dh about this in the past.

To be fair, the clue is hiding in plain sight right there in the name: sore butt 'ole Grin

FatherJackHackettsUnderpantsHamper · 06/10/2023 16:42

It's a bit cheeky how they say 'excessive' consumption - which you'd maybe take to mean more than a couple of good handfuls - when they really mean 'any at all'.

FatherJackHackettsUnderpantsHamper · 06/10/2023 16:58

It does make you wonder why products such as Ex-lax and Dulcolax even exist in the first place. If you need the violent purging effects, why not just buy some sugar-free gummy bears instead and at least enjoy the taste, before the raging torrents arrive?

I completely agree!

I had this the other day after eating half a bag of sugar free Werthers, had to make an emergency dash to a shop with a toilet, which I filled with the hugest 💩 I've ever done - it must have been at least 18 inches long. 🙀
