Loud music from toilet phone

I really did try and think of a better title but this seems to give the best overview?

My son (15) dropped his phone in the toilet earlier, insisted "it's fine I have dried it".

It was not fine?

It continued to work for 5 minutes. Then alerted us to its imminent demise by emitting a really bloody loud alarm, and then going black.

I have optimistically put it in rice (I sincerely doubted this would do anything but it has delayed the inevitable misery at the dead toilet phone).

It has now decided to resurrect itself slightly. The screen is still dead, it won't respond to any buttons to turn it off, but Zombie phone has decided to play Phonk music (angry birds heavy phonk remix to be specific) VERY LOUDLY from within the depths of the rice.

I'm not even sure what I'm asking here? Advice? Has anything like this happened to you? Do I need a hammer or an exorcist? Why Phonk?

Take the battery out then ring a priest?

YesitsBess · 05/10/2023 19:28

Its one of those ones where you have to have a degree in engineering to get the battery out. But thankyou for the priest suggestion. Do you think they get this a lot?

Lol is this guerilla advertising for your angry birds phonk remix 🤣

Leave it in rice and the battery should die soon. Perhaps in a box outside so you don't have to listen. Alternatively look up the hard reset button combination for the phone and it should reset and stop playing music then

I've dropped various phones in the loo multiple times (phone in back pocket and it fell out as I pulled jeans down to sit on loo or fell from on top of the slightly slanted cistern, you'd think I'd learn) - all android and all have survived after a few days in rice and NO TURNING ON after being in the rice until 2/3 days later

DD's iphone wrapped in a blanket went through a quick wash in the machine🤭 and was usable after taking to a phone repair shop who basically used tools to take it apart, in rice and a new battery put in. Did smell nice too

Hahahaaa! Thankyou from a new member of the toilet phone gang!

I had no idea what Phonk was until recently. I don't hate it? I mean...it's not ideal at this exact moment but I don't hate it.
