I saw a horrible story about a young child mauled by a dangerous dog. I'm not dog owner but I do have children who are rather cautious of dogs. My DM always said if you are in a situation with dangerous dog throw a blanket or at least a jumper over it's head or even cold water to distract it. Any dog behaviourists who can confirm if this is a worthwhile strategy? Or is it likely to aggravate the dog further?
