How do people afford a third child

We are planning family and have one DC. We are still unsure at what point we want second DC. I have seen so many post on MN about people having third DC.
Just curious how do you afford and decide to have 3 DC?

Also, me and DH are from large families and our parents didn't had enough for all our siblings so that's our opinion that we would want to have smaller family so we can afford good holidays and education etc.

Isn’t it obvious?

Some people have a high income. Some people have lower than typical expenses - family help with childcare, or a mortgage paid off by an inheritance. Some people live very frugally and don’t prioritise or care about the same things you do, like holidays. And a decent chunk of people can’t afford it but do it anyway, or the pregnancy wasn’t a deliberate decision.

We have two children and won’t have a third. But financially we could easily afford a couple more - dh has a well paid job and we have good family support. I have friends with four, five and seven children - they afford it with reasonable jobs, living in pretty cheap parts of the country and not doing things like expensive days out or holidays. And they all have very involved grandparents.

Are these questions from a bot? So many banal threads right now just like this. Tedious.

Answers-

coz some people have more money.

coz some people don’t plan or don’t care if they can afford it.

Not sure how there are so many posters who don't understand the concept that

a) some people earn more than others
b) some people have much lower expenses - try buying a 3 bed semi in London vs a 3 bed semi in Hull
c) some people have 'other money' (inheritance, lottery winnings, trust fund)
d) some people are much more frugal with everything up to and including their weekly food bill
e) some people choose to buy clothes in charity shops and drive 15 yr old cars whereas others think it normal to spend over £100 on a dress or £300 on a handbag
f) some people smoke / drink / get their nails done regularly / spend £150 on a haircut / have the latest iPhone or other gadgets / eat out / have the heating on high for many hours a day / 1001 other things that others consider to be a waste of money.

etc
etc
