What is the Sainsburys logo about?

Sainsburys I notice have changed the colours of their logos (see pic)

Anyone know what it means? It's doing a shoddy job of raising awareness of something if it doesn't tell you and Google has not provided an answer either!

So are you saying that the OP started a thread claiming not to understand the meaning/significance of the logo change, and then used the word "niggling" in order to be openly yet subtly racist? Is that it?

Well it's not beyond the realms of possibility

You know what else is niggling me? Pathetic people who seem to think everyone everyone else has ulterior meanings and motives behind their usual words and that take offence at anything and everything.

My curiosity about a supermarket logo is sated, I am not now left pondering the numbers of absolute weirdos that walk amongst us

You also seem very happy labeling people who say things you don't like. Have I called you names?

Neither is winning the lottery. It’s not likely though.

Niggle is a widely used word and has no association with race or ethnicity. People have niggling worries, pains, thoughts…

I don’t fancy your chances of rewriting the dictionary on this one.

You would think that nobody ever has put a play on a word. I fully well know its true meaning. It is still an unusual word in this context. But you all carry on and be po faced explaining etc. Fortunately some of us can think outside the box you're fervently trying to protect.

Lmao

You haven’t been overt but you knew exactly what you were implying when you posted.

flowertreesgrass · 05/10/2023 11:18

This thread is bonkers. I didn't know what the logo colours meant, I do now. 😀

No it isn’t. OP vaguely recognised the symbolism but couldn’t place it. Therefore it ‘niggled’ at her mind.

Now I don’t know for certain what OP’s motivations/views are in life but on this thread alone there is zero reason to suspect anything untoward.

Well obviously

Cornettoninja · 05/10/2023 11:21

Ah, so you’re just getting off on twisting words.

you do you.

Cowlover89 · 05/10/2023 11:23

Fucking hell. Some people are just tosspots who would literally start a fight in an empty room.

Ignore them.

InterFactual · 05/10/2023 11:23

Trolls walk among us, don't feed them.

Me neither, although the colours reminded me of the Jamaican flag so thought Sainsbury's might be offering free trips to the Caribbean. No such luck though!

DiscoBeat · 05/10/2023 11:30

What a crazy thread. So the OP uses a common word that is entirely unrelated to racism but IS related to the post (I can't think of a better word in this context in fact) and it's the people responding that are wildly making a race connection. Bonkers!
Also, I wondered about the logo change too!
