Can you get part time housekeepers or are they always full time?

I’ve found that a cleaner isn’t exactly what I need but wondering if a part time (2-3 hours a day Mon- Fri) would be better. When I look online all I see is that they are full time positions? Has anyone ever had aPT one?

I just feel like if I had for example someone 8-11 am daily then they’d arrive as we left for school run then when I get back an hour later I wouldn’t have all the breakfast stuff to clear and a wash could already have been put on etc etc . I have asd, adhd, severe endometriosis and ME and just can’t manage and currently having just a cleaner twice a week isn’t helping it’s more tidying and organising, washing and meal prep etc I need so more of a housekeeper role?

Talk to signature staff agency - they source part time house keepers

Yes you can get part time housekeepers. You would be their employer by the sounds of it so consider that too.

You'd be better advertising for hours around 9.15-11.45 to suit a mum doing the school/nursery run.

Hi I'm a part time housekeeper. The hours suit me fine. I work 8.30-12noon I clean up breakfast. Put a wash on and tidy the bedrooms. My children are adults but this type of job would suit someone with children at school. Advertise on the 'nextdoor' app to get someone local.

I’m sure you could find someone, but if you can make it compatible with school hours you’ll really broaden your options.

I have always had part timers although normally afternoons rather than mornings. If you like your current cleaner might be worth starting with a chat with them and asking if they'd be prepared to do it and explaining what you want done. If that doesn't work then ask around at the school gate as there might be a mum looking for school friendly hours (so long as you could wait a bit for them to clear the breakfast dishes).

I have a part time housekeeper but they are one or two 10-2( ish) days a week.

Hi OP this is definitely possible. have a look at care.com. you might have to trial a few applicants before you find someone who fits you. I normally ask them to come for an interview and pay them for two hours or work to assess compatibility/work quality and then do 2/3 sessions before going into a more permanent arrangement .

just make sure to spell out your exact requirements in your initial conversation. also be prepared to spend some time initially making sure they are familiar with the tasks and your preference. Good luck!

Great discussion you've got going on here about part-time housekeepers!

Totally get that sometimes a cleaner just doesn't cut it and you need a bit more help around the house. At Irving Scott, we've got you covered.

Yep, you can absolutely find part-time housekeepers who can pop in for a few hours each day. The 8-11 am slot you're talking about is totally doable and actually a win-win for everyone. It's perfect for someone who's got kids in school and is looking for a job that fits around that schedule.

Housekeepers do more than just clean; they can help with organising, laundry, and even meal prep. So, if you're juggling a lot and need an extra pair of hands, a part-time housekeeper could be just what you're looking for.

If you're thinking about taking the plunge, just make sure you're clear about what you want. The more specific you are, the easier it is to find the right match.

Feel free to check us out at Irving Scott for more info or to get the ball rolling on finding your ideal housekeeper.
