Woking, Surrey- the good and bad

Hello! We are planning a move back to Surrey/London for many reasons. After a lot of thought we are considering Woking as it’s not far from both sets of family. We have 8 and 10 year olds - what are the schools like and is there much to do for them there? Is there any areas to avoid? Good and bad points of Woking?…

There have been other threads about Woking and the consensus is that it’s good if you need to get into Waterloo quickly.

The council is bankrupt, the town centre is not good, I believe and the outlying villages are much better, but transport into the centre takes a long time and is infrequent.

Hook Heath is expensive, Horsell is fine, Goldsworth Park, Knaphill, Sheerwater, less so. St John’s is OK, as is Brookwood.
