Wee on shoes help

My 4 year old weed on his school shoes. I washed them in a bowl with hot water and washing up liquid. Then I tumble dried them. They still stink of pee. Advice please. They cost £50 4 weeks ago and we cannot afford to buy new at the moment.

Soak them in hot water with soda crystals in it, then fill them with scrunched up newspaper to dry out.

No, they're cheap. Home Bargains or B&M have them.
