Child benefit post 16 and younger sibling

Hi,
Just wondering if anyone knows whether it's normal that once your eldest child stops getting child benefit, does the next sibling down get the higher rate £24 per week?

Yes, the eldest eligible child gets the higher rate. Is your 16 year old out of full-time education now? I know my eldest still got it until 18 as they were in 6th form full-time.

Yes and it should happen automatically.
