Security tag still on sandals

GreenTuraco · 02/10/2023 15:44

I've just received an online order of some sandals which still have a security tag on. Bought from House of Fraser so are legit. I've uploaded a pic - can anyone tell me if I am ok to try to remove the tag or if it is the type to spray dye everywhere?
Trying to speak to an actual person in customer services at HoF for advice is proving very difficult. I am a long way from an actual HoF store (if indeed they still exist) to take in.
I'd like to just try to get it off.
Advice please

You could take them, and a receipt to a different local store and see if they will remove it maybe?

Do you have a really strong magnet? That’s all they remove them with in store.

This happened to DD who ordered a dress online from Yours. We went into a local store with the email and they removed it. Alternatively, return them and reorder and tell them why you are returning.

I'm sure a good pair of pliers or a mini saw could get through that cable, without going anywhere near the tag.
Alternatively a small-ish clothing shop nearby is a good idea.

I just had this last week with a pair of boots I bought from M&S, I didn't realise until I got home that the security tag was still attached (didn't set alarm off when I left the store). Anyway I just cut it off with some kitchen scissors. Took a few attempts to cut through but got there in the end!

It's off! I wrapped the tag in a sandwich bag (just in case) and hacked away at the cable with an old pair of scissors and it eventually gave way.
Thanks everyone

I had the same with a pair of jeans from Hollister
I took them to my local Sainsbury's with the receipt and they kindly removed it at customer service for me
I'd rather do that than risk making a hole in

Sorry! Glad you've removed it
