Hair Loss 10 Months Post Partum

I'm 10 months post partum as thread title says. I didn't really have much noticeable hair loss post partum until how when it seems to be falling out in handfuls .

I was expecting hair loss but thought it would be 4-5 months PP so it's a bit of a surprise now. I'm still breastfeeding, periods haven't returned (not sure whether that's anything to do with it). Could I be deficient in something? Or has it just happened later for me?

Ooh my hairdresser mentioned this just the other day and I can't remember what the reasoning was. But basically it will happen and will probably be later as I'm breast feeding, and not to panic.

Have you recently stopped breast-feeding or changed your diet or had a change in your periods or been ill? All of these (and more) can cause hair loss. I would have a look at your diet and make sure you're getting enough B vitamins and just be patient, it will resolve itself in time.

I had this, was very alarming for a bit! From what I understand, when you are pregnant you don't lose much hair at all - and then it all falls out at once. Mine took about 3 months to go back to 'normal'.

No, still breastfeeding, periods not yet returned, no illness. I take a multivitamin daily. I've heard taking folic acid again could help.

I expected to lose hair after birth but thought it would be earlier than this and that perhaps it had happened and only been a small amount/not very noticeable.

Hey I know this thread is old but did your hair loss stop?? I’m in the same boat :(
