Are you in UK? The milk cartons look massive!

UpToMyElbowsInDiapers · 02/10/2023 02:29

Lactantia + Natrel + 1L maple syrup = hello fellow Canadian.

I’m intrigued though. Why so many dairy and dairy substitute products?

reallyunderstandsometimes · 02/10/2023 02:39

Is that all cheese? Wow what a great thread this will be when everyone wakes up in the Uk.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 02/10/2023 02:41

Devuskums: it's a 4l of milk x2 for DC; 2% for another person; soy and almond milk for my caffe lattes and protein shakes.

Uptomyelbows: you nailed it! Left Coast here. 🇨🇦 I'd be ashamed to not have maple syrup, eh? 🤣

Post your pics!!!! 😁

DD and I have just been food shopping and when we went to put the meat away there was no space as the meat drawer is full of beer and wine so a photo would shame me 😂 In my defence it is a very hot long weekend here - it was 35 degrees yesterday - and we are having another bbq.

I have two fridges, one for food and a 'beer fridge' in the living room. It has some beer in but mainly soft drinks.

Flatandhappy · 02/10/2023 05:47

Looks like pina coladas at yours 😁

Mumtobabyhavoc · 02/10/2023 06:00

@Flatandhappy I have two rubbermaid bins of bottles as well. 🤦‍♀️
I could probably throw a piss up for 50 people!

Bread goes stale quicker in the fridge.

Tarkan · 02/10/2023 07:40

No pics but our top shelf is a plastic tray full of sauces and condiments etc. Ketchup, mayo, salad cream, brown sauce, sweet chilli sauce, sriracha sauce, sriracha mayo, Caesar dressing, lemon juice, lime juice, barbecue sauce, burger sauce and American mustard.

Then we have a water filter jug and can of dog meat. A leftover garlic sauce from Domino's. DD's mango tea concentrate and strawberry popping boba which appeared in the fridge after her last comic con.

Ham (both honey roast and breaded), margarine for DC who don't like real butter, mature cheddar (although I need to buy more cheese today), three mini babybels, a can of Illy coffee, two 2 litre jugs of semi-skimmed milk, half a bottle of Pinot Grigio, 5 cans of Tennents lager, half a pack of bacon, tomato purée, garlic purée, a tub of coleslaw and 5 bars of dairy free chocolate for cooking something for a friend.

Oh and some teething toy keys for my friend's young son who I look after a couple of times a week. He hasn't needed them for a while but they're still in the fridge.

I think that's it. I'm going shopping today so we'll have more fresh stuff and salad etc later.

Tessisme · 02/10/2023 09:41

I'm just here to look inside other people's fridges😆😆 There is NO WAY on earth I would post a picture of mine, as it looks as if a very strong elf who works out at the gym and misuses steroids, crept into our kitchen during the night, turned the fridge upside down, gave it a good shake, then set it back down and buggered off. It always looks like that, except for the two nanoseconds after I tidy it up and dump all the penicillin experiments.

Didn't realize my British cousins were so shy...🤔

My fridge is embarrassingly small next to everyone else's but there's only two of us. Seems to be quite a lot of cheese in there (the white bowl has feta in it too!)

I just did a grocery shop. Fridge is stocked!

What's the stuff wrapped in kitchen roll

Theoldwoman · 03/10/2023 00:49

That’s one very tall and narrow fridge! I just want to organise it all for you. 😜

Mumtobabyhavoc · 03/10/2023 00:56

@Theoldwoman freezer is other half. 🫠
@ilovepixie kitchen roll? Hmmm. Could you be referring to the cold packs in the door?🤔
@HandsomeJack time for a shop? 😁

@AmyDudley what are you doing with the cabbage?

OP posts:
AmyDudley · 03/10/2023 10:06

@Mumtobabyhavoc - I tend to cut off thin slices horizontally then I add it into pasta (it just cooks in the heat of the pasta once it is drained) or I wilt it in a pan and have it a as side veggie or raw in a salad, or I have it in a breakfast omelette.
Really I just bung a bit in wherever I can. I'm supposed to be eating more leafy green veg atm, and I'm not a fan of kale, but I quite like cabbage.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 03/10/2023 15:21

@AmyDudley oh, good ideas! 🤓Thank you!

I like thinly sliced purple cabbage with feta, tomatoes and a vinaigrette for salad. 😊
I also cook cabbage in cream (in roaster in oven) with onion until very soft and serve with pork chops/roast pork (not as healthy, obvs!).
