I didn't see a thread about this. Was most shocked at the doctors treating the trafficked women saying that they knew what was going on. www.thetimes.co.uk/article/0b1f0fde-5f8e-11ee-8ddd-38aca63976af?shareToken=4573878ac5edf9ccf25167796d323526

There are creeps in every country, but the UK stands out in how openly they operate and are supported.

Look at what he does. He's a financial services huckster. That's what the wealthiest do in the UK if they're not politicians. It requires very little talent and contributes zero. The result is that there are awful people with no talent, plenty of money, nothing to work on, and all the time in the world to indulge in whatever they like.

If anyone here were one of those doctors, we'd probably feel a huge amount of pressure to enable the behaviour. Everyone else would have been on this guy's side. Katherine Ryan said it herself when she talked about wanting to stand up to Russell Brand. UK law protects creeps. Libel laws are ridiculously strong and there are injunctions that prevent any hints or rumours from even being published.

God, it’s a cesspit, this country. Fucking hell.

itsmylife7 · 01/10/2023 22:15

A long read and so much to take in.

So our Police are corrupt.
Doctors corrupt.

Those poor Women.

National trust and Princes trust aren't going to be happy.

This country is no different from all the other corrupt countries.

Thanks for the share token. What an enormous disgusting horrifying nightmare of a story.

JoanOgden · 01/10/2023 22:19

I note that in this case Twitter is not full of people saying we shouldn't judge him in the absence of a guilty verdict in court...

LunaNorth · 01/10/2023 22:43

Antibiotics?

My mind won’t even go to the places it needs to to be able to comprehend what he must have been making those poor women do.

Kendodd · 01/10/2023 22:54

Side question if anyone knows.
Do super injunctions still exist?
Reading that article, the police seemed more concerned with colluding with this man to keep his illegal acts with these trafficked women secret than actually looking after the safety of the women.
Super injunctions are used in a similar way and stop women talking about their own lives to protect the reputation of men.

TheMurderousGoose · 01/10/2023 22:55

The Met putting his victims in danger by reporting them back to Ogston. Fucking hell.
