Planning on taking DS8 to Switzerland for his first ever trip abroad from the UK.

Itinerary as follows:

Friday - fly out at 1800ish arriving at 2000 into Zurich, where we will be driven to Bern by family.
Saturday and Sunday - Bern with family
Monday - train to Lucerne/Luzern (1hr ish), stay overnight there
Tuesday - train to Zurich and flight out in the afternoon/early eve.

Does this sound ok? Manageable? I'm well travelled, DC doesn't experience travel sickness.

We'd like to visit some interesting places and see some good scenery without walking for miles and miles

Near Lucerne- Engelberg, Aareschlucht/Meiringen, train up Rigi or Mount Pilatus, boat tour of lake.

From Bern to Interlaken , go up to Jungfraujoch (via wengen or Grindelwald) or Schilthorn(via Muerren)

A boat tour sounds good!

With Pilatus and Rigi you can do a round trip from Lucerne which takes a boat as well as train/lifts

Is there anywhere else we should go to on the way back from Bern instead? (Via the train)

What time of year are you going? The train journey is pretty scenic, there is Ballenberg museum and Brienz-Rothorn mountain train.

There is a large transport museum in Lucerne,

Do check what is open, some mountain areas will close by mid October or run limited days.

Now looking at Interlaken, I see there is a Go Ape type place, has anyone been?
