F/B question: are these scams?

I keep seeing adverts for what appear to be small businesses that are selling off their stock due to them closing down. It's all sorts of random items - I had fancy wooden jigsaws and felt bookmarks this morning! To be clear, I'm not going to buy anything but my suspicious mind is intrigued by what they're all up to! Fake sites to take payment / harvest your details? I know of the scam where sites impersonate big names (I was inundated with "Cath Kidston closing down sites" for a while that were clearly dodgy), is this something similar?

I always assumed those adverts were just using it as a sales technique. Set up a website, call it a closing down sale, say the price is reduced, and people will think it's a bargain that won't be around for long.

Always a scam

Look at the name of the company. Look at the spelling errors. Of course it's a scam.

TBF, some I've seen have been less obvious!
