Am I gen x, millennial or xennial? So annoying. Born 1981.

Who cares?

Gen X is from around 1965 to 1979 and Millenial is 1980 to 1995, so you're on the cusp of being Gen X and Millennial. Sometimes described as 'older millennial'.

I'm not sure if I'm a boomer, an OAP or have one foot in the grave.

Boomers are those born between 1946 - 1964. The generation before that is known as the Silent Generation (1925 - 1945). Prior to that was The Greatest Generation (1901 - 1925).

Millennial.

I'm Gen X - I love being Gen X, it sounds so much cooler than all the other 'Generations'. 😃

Born in 81’ and consider myself a millennial.

Does it really matter? I'm gen x and have millennial, gen z and gen a children.

We are Gen X because we refused to be named as one monolith. So “X” for “unknown quantity” became our moniker.

Gen X's last year is 1980, millennials are from 1981 (though some use the term xennial as there's a kinda crossover somewhere, I don't know much about that sorry) I'm a gen X though and proud of it 🙌

Always thought it's a cool name.
Maybe influenced by Generation X, a great band which gave us the delightful Billy Idol although I didn't know about either until the 1980s!

What I do find depressing is that all the members of bands I loved, and still love, could be termed as 'boomers' which to me sounds really weird.
In a cool band in the 80s that I loved? I think they have to be honorary Gen X!
