Mobile phone help - screen protector

DD has given me her old phone. It's got a glass screen protector on it but this is all cracked and chipped around the edges. Any tips on how to remove this so I can start afresh with a new one?

Looks like low heat and slow prising works best, but only if the screen itself isn’t broken. You might also struggle if the screen protector is in bits - watch your fingers on the small shards! You may be as well taking it to a place that can put a new protector on (removing the old one for you).

Can't you just peel it off?

It's cracked into a million tiny pieces all around the edges.
