Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I'm in my kitchen spot, with my first cuppa of the day. The window's open & it's silent down here apart from the fridge humming away to itself & the birds I can hear in one of the trees. I think they're in the big Christmas tree type at the bottom of a neighbours garden.

There's uniform washing to be done, pots to wash up from last night, and I volunteered dd1 to sweep in here since she was messing about chucking rainbow drops about yesterday. Other than that, the house is mostly clean and tidy.

Dd1's off into town with their dad today for a few bits for college, then off out with her friend.

Dd2, I think, got up at 4am to watch Adele so will be in bed a while longer. I don't think she was fussed about going anywhere today.

I plan to print a Vinted label & head to the shop with the parcel, then sit at the kitchen table crafting. We're off to the Eras Tour film in a couple of weeks so I might get the beads out and see if the girls want to join me making a handful of friendship bracelets.

Tonight it's a cooked breakfast for tea 😋 then probably more crafting for me, a bit of homework for dd1 and some more reading for dd2.

Highlight today will be taking the daughter to town for a bite at our favourite cafe, the playground on the way home and then later tonight closing the curtains, shutting the world out and getting cosy with that new Disney movie on Disney+
As we had a cafe, there will be the usual Tea discussions... she'll want a pizza with the movie, and I'll moan I've already paid for lunch, but secretly and deep down I love a pizza and a movie night and she knows it.. but you can't just instantly give in can you? 🤪🤣

Sleep in this morning until 8 due to being up most nights this week with dd2. Dh is getting ready to leave at 1 for work abroad, flight this evening but it’s at airport 5 hours away! I’m going to miss him and so are the girls.

Dd1 wants to go find a bookshop somewhere as she wants to read chapter books so we’ll go look maybe. I have a parcel to return so I might get that done today. Its going to be a bit of a lazy day once dh leaves tbh.

Morning all :) it was my daughters b/day yesterday so her partner has taken her for a weekend away,while I have my DG all to myself for a couple of days 💜 he's having a long lie in,while I am chillin on MN with coffee and my vape. Haven't had him for the weekend for a long time,he's 12 now,so likes to be out with his friends on a weekend. But I am a happy bunny,alls good with my world. Hope we all have a lovely weekend 😊

I'm trying to distract myself from my DH's new cancer treatment, so while he watches tv, I'm going to clean and tidy, do some weeding in the front garden and then tackle a new painting I started yesterday. Oh, and put something in the slow cooker for later.

Flu jab, ironing, housework… got a tonne of college work to do too so I’ll need to do that too.

Unusual quiet start to the day, one DD had a last minute sleepover, other DD has decided to have a rest morning (usually up, gym, activities, then work on a Saturday!) and DS is chilling on the sofa after coming down with a cold.

A pottering day for us therefore. Coffee number 2....

I've moved away from my usual careful watercolours, and I've taken up the acrylics and palette knife for some rather abstract flower pictures!

Just dropped my dd off to her first shift in a cafe. Ordered my balloons for my 50th party tonight and bought a few bits of makeup. Need to finish my planning and marking, as I don’t think I will be up to it tomorrow!

Ooh @AndStand I've seen some tiktok videos of people doing those - never tried it. Do you enjoy them? Can we see? (You don't have to though!) I just seem to stick to painting endless supplies of little people 🤣

A slow steady Parkrun done. I volunteer every year for our local marathon which is tomorrow so off to do some set up this afternoon, in the sun which makes a pleasant change to some past years, dragging barriers around a field in the lashing rain!

Lazy evening after that ahead of an early start tomorrow for marshalling duties.

Just about to take DS to his swimming lesson, then home for lunch, quick eyebrow wax then taking him to meet his friend from nursery at a trampoline park. Out for dinner for my friends birthday tonight so looking forward to Thai food and a few wines, then it's my turn for a lie in tomorrow!

Had a peaceful start with a coffee and crossword.
DH has gone to work and I'm currently on my second coffee after making eggs on toast for myself and DC - who is currently watching Winnie the Pooh.
The dog is stretched out on the rug and snoring away.

DC has been a bit poorly so playing it by ear today, we may go to town or we may have a 'home day' with puzzles and drawing and building tracks and lego. Im hoping to get some reading and a few bits and piece done in between.

Having quite a lazy morning, felt so tired this week! Kids are watching bluey whilst I drink all the tea. Football soon then off to a friends house for the afternoon.
House is clean and tidy enough! Load oh washing in the machine, hoping to get it out for a couple of hours before the rain this afternoon.

Taking dd out for brunch before going into work later. DD's been struggling a bit, so we're having a 'therapy' brunch so she can offload as needed....I know it's going to be about the boys in her class doing her head in, by the constant messing around and 'low level' disruption. Then it'll be work, home, dig out the walking stuff then bed and a nice family day walking tomorrow.

Oh @dontforgetme I was hoping it wouldn't rain here! I've just checked the forecast after reading your post & it is forecasting rain this afternoon 😢

First load of washing is on the line, 2nd in the machine. I've cleaned the kitchen and ordered some shoes and jeans.

I couldn't parkrun as I have a wheeze, so I'll take DS to swimming, then do the food shop. Lunch, then maybe high street shopping this afternoon, I need some thicker tops or long sleeved T-shirts.

I might try a short run later. See how I feel. Or gardening. Labelling the jam I made last night. And put a chicken casserole in the slow cooker.

A bit of a lazy weekend really. Do the crossword and contemplate autumn clothes. I've spent weeks dealing with school uniform, now it's my turn. 😊

I want a tan saddle-bag style bag but I can't find one that isn't silly money.

Just enjoying a cup of tea before getting ready for work. Cats snoozing with me, DC both at grannys and DH out with friends.

Tonight will watch movie with kids. Tomorrow plan to weed the garden and get DC to help make our tea plus make a pudding!

Tired after a very busy week at work! I woke up early as always (5:30), then dozed on and off a bit and didn't get up until 8:30. Off for a dog walk with ds in a bit. Got lots of work and housework to do, but dh, ds and I are singing/playing in our informal village jam group this afternoon. No exciting plans for the weekend, but we'll probably have a family video call with dd, who's just finished her 2nd week at university. Have a nice day, everyone!

Sod all! Kids will be in PJs all day. We are knackered. Have caught up on Bake Off with DD. I'm going to go for a job, pick up supermarket collection, clear out car and put some laundry away. Then an afternoon of reading my book on the sofa.

Doing VAT and general admin in the office which is conveniently located in PIL house so at least I'm getting tea and Werthers originals to keep me going.

DH is making orders and finishing estimates for future jobs.

Ds1 is doing French and maths homework which I can tell is being completed because the school app messages me to say what percent has been submitted.

Ds2 is doing reading but actually playing with PIL dog.

I’m on my annual weekend away with my BFF - we call it our mental health break as we get to vent and set the world to rights with no distractions and it’s amazing!

We’re in Mallorca at an AI resort but currently standing at a bus stop waiting for a bus to take us across the island and we’re walking to a secluded little cove for a swim in the sea - I bloody love swimming in the sea!

Back to the resort later for lunch, pool time and reading/naps before dinner and a quiz tonight.
