What’s Happening In Your House/ Weekend Plans?

How’s everyone doing? I’m feeling a bit sorry for myself. Started anti depressants a week ago which are messing with my head & I’ve had a few unpleasant side effects but need to give them time. DD14 & I ended up shouting at each other earlier ( she has a lot of issues & can be very volatile). Sometimes I think she just picks a fight out of nowhere, although she had said just before that she was bored. I really bit, even whilst aware that she was doing it deliberately & I should never have reacted. DH ended up taking her out on his own - we were going to look for a double bed for her at Dunelm. I stayed home & licked my wounds! They’re not back yet. I’m trying to chill but some spuds are calling to me to peel them. Having bangers, double cream mash, petitpois & cauliflower cheese for tea. DD might have just bangers & mash. All she’s eaten today is custard & cereal ( not together!) Been thrashing out loads of dates & trying to book some holiday as I discovered I still have over a week to take before the end of Feb. Feeling v guilty as I fell asleep this aft & completely forgot that I was supposed to be looking after DM whilst DF played golf. When I phoned he had gone & luckily she was fine.
Seeing a friend for a pub lunch tomorrow. I was going by train to see her but it’s a strike day & I’d rather not drive as my car is playing up so she’s coming over here. Service booked soon. Working Sunday. Nice easy tea of herby chicken breasts in foil, Lidl bacon & onion sauté potatoes & petitpois. Lots of tv to catch up on at some point including several episodes of Doctors which is one of my guilty pleasures! Very chuffed that DD queued on Ticketmaster this morning & secured 2 Take That tickets! Saw them in 2019 & they were brilliant!

I'm going to see some kittens tomorrow.

I moved house recently and I can finally have pets again as I now own a house and I'm going to get a cat! Or possibly two. Or three.

I have had five in the past but that seems like a lot at once.

Nothing very dramatic here.
I have done some housework and ironing. Had a Waitrose curry for my tea. DH is about to go to the pub. I will watch some crap TV.
Going out tomorrow night with friends, It's my birthday on Monday so DH is taking me out for lunch on Sunday.

I hope you have a good weekend

Quiet one here. Tonight we have caught up on Grand Slammers and Masterchef Australia. Dinner was prawns and rice very nice! Now watching the rugby with an alcohol free wine.

Tomorrow DH will see his mate while I’m having hair and lashes done. Much needed self care for us both! Then steak and strictly.

Sunday is our chill day. Starting with a dog walk followed by coffee ans greggs baps. Then Netflix and making a pork belly dish from last Sundays food thread off here.

All in front of the TV tonight on countdown to bed. Dd is 16 and has done her first month of her mechanic apprenticeship, she's knackered doing 830-5.
Dh off to take a mate to see a car tomorrow while dd gets her nails done. I'm hoping for at least two hours peace.
Sunday we have a sausage walk with our local dachsund group and dd are off to watch moonlight serenade orchestra with the Glen Miller big band.
I've booked Monday off work🙂

Doctors has been good this week.

lucysmam · 29/09/2023 21:39

Sorry you & dd had crossed words @RabbitsRock . Hopefully it's sortable 🙂

I'm thinking about heading to bed - I'm a bit snuffly & could do without it developing any further than that! Usually I'd get out something off my endless list of crafty things I want to do. I'll save that for over the weekend!

Dd2's just showered & is reading again. She's going to bed soon so she can get up at 4am & watch someone stream Adele from Vegas 💤 She's been told to wake me if she's lonely but I really hope she doesn't, as awful as that sounds🤞

Dd1's not getting a shower tonight. She's sat in bed doing either her Law or Philosophy homework - she was considering switching from Law at the beginning of the week but they've done an assessment over the last couple of days & she scored really high so that's given her confidence a boost! She's baffling me with the amount of info she's retained over the past 3 weeks since starting!

@RabbitsRock I hope you start to feel better real soon.

Quite one this evening, caught up on laundry, been on the treadmill. DS's (12 & 16) finally listened and cleaned their rooms!

Early start tomorrow for DS (12) football match then I will drop them to their dads and come home and nap ready for my overtime shift Saturday night! Regretting saying I'd do it but they are very short staffed so feel bad cancelling!

Sunday I'm off to my wedding venue with my SIL(bridesmaid) to a taster evening with the caterers. (DP is away at sea!) Monday I have my first wedding dress fitting as my actual dress is in store! Exciting!

NorthernGirlie · 29/09/2023 21:51

DH is out tonight so it's just me, ds and a pizza!
Tomorrow ds is playing footy at 10. I need to get up early to dye my hair (should have done it tonight but I'm shattered after a tough work week)

Then I'm off out with my work pals - I can't wait. We're all scattered across different departments these days so we'll have drinks, food and a fabulous catch up! Just a cheap pub as I know some of my colleagues are skinter than others but it's the people that count!
