Euston to Slough on the tube ticketing question

If I were to travel from Euston on the tube to Slough how much would it cost using the debit card tap in and out system? As far as I can remember it's:
London Eustonto Tottenham Court Road
TCR to Paddington
Paddington to Slough

Thank you!

It’s one tap in at Euston and out again at Slough. TCR to Slough is one journey without changing. It’s about £7 but check Elizabeth line website

The Elizabeth line runs from Tottenham court road to Slough. You pay separately from West Drayton to Slough it's much quicker now it's open.

Do you mean it's not a tap in and out at Slough? I'm not very familiar with the tube. I thought I'd just get on at Paddington and get off at Slough after tapping in at Paddington.

This is all because for some reason the train tickets are being weird and saying I can't have a ticket from Manchester to Slough so they've said to get a ticket to Euston then tap in and out with the tube to Slough.

I regularly travel from Crewe to Maidenhead (so v similar journey) and for some unknown reason I have to have paper not electronic tickets, so I can use paper tickets on the tube ... Not massively helpful sorry!

I used to work in Maidenhead and I'm sure it was a direct train to there from Manchester. Maybe change at Birmingham NS but definitely not via London.

£14.10. I would walk from Euston to Kings Cross (£2.70 off peak/£2.80 peak using an oyster or debit card) and go to Paddington and then pick up the Elizabeth Line from there (£11.40).

You can get a direct train from Manchester to Reading, then from there to Slough without having to go anywhere near London, my MIL used to do it to avoid having to go through London. And I'm pretty sure you can use contactless at Slough, whether you go from Reading or Tottenham Court Road. If you catch the Elizabeth Line from TCR, you don't have to change at Paddington, just wait for an Elizabeth Line train to Reading and stay on it to Slough.

That's a much longer & convoluted route than getting the Northern Line from Euston to Tottenham Court Road and then the Elizabeth Line from there.

It's not "The Tube" to Slough. It's the Elizabeth Line. The ticketing is different to just tapping in and out.

Trisolaris · 30/09/2023 00:11

You can tap in and out at Slough - it’s just oyster you can’t use past West Drayton not contactless

Trisolaris · 30/09/2023 00:13

I use the Elizabeth line 3 days a week for work and tap in every time

Needmorelego · 30/09/2023 00:28

I mean you can "tap" but it's different to "The Tube".
