What's happened to Dishmatic Sponges?

Very trivial I know.

What's happened to the replacement Dishmatic sponges? Why don't they fit anymore? They keep falling off the washing-up-liquid-filled-handle. Most frustrating. They used to be brilliant but now it's becoming more of a hindrance than a help.

Anyone else suffering from this, admittedly trivial, problem?

Yes! I assumed it was so that you’d have to buy a new handle, otherwise they’d never sell any new handles once everyone has one.

My daughter hasn't mentioned it but when I was at her house this morning it happened while I was helping with the washing up.

Yep you're right, probs a ploy to get us all to buy a new handle.

Get the scrub daddy one instead. It is so much better than the dishmatic one.

I bought a new handle for that reason and it is the same. I think they messed something up. I really hate my sponge now tbf

Ugh me too!!!! I bought a new one and then new sponges to see and they are all falling off.

I was very attached to them. How annoying

I had the same issue before Christmas which was really weird because I've been buying the products for years and never had an issue. I spoke to someone on the phone and on email and they were so helpful, they explained there was some issue with a change in glue and was on a small batch, but the main issue is that there are other brands selling copies like Scrub Daddy, Elbow Grease and Spontex and they don't fit on Dishmatic handles properly and can snap the handle or refills😩 they sent me replacements and I just bought new ones last week and they're back to normal.
I find generally customer service in the UK is worse than ever at the moment but they were polite, responsive, helpful and sent out replacements. I was emailing them ( [email protected] ) and spoke to them on the phone briefly 02031151800 actually found out when on the phone to them that they're made in the UK - who knew?! 😊

I bought my first one in years a few weeks ago and it's been REALLY annoying. Glad it's not just me but also very weird!

Yes!! We had this issue, it was so annoying. Bought a Scrub Daddy instead, but not fussed on it, as it’s much bigger, and I feel it doesn’t get onto the corners as well.

I've bought some replacement sponge heads recently and they were fine. I bought the usual green ones. I'm hoping it was just a bad batch and they're back to normal.

Normal washing up procedures have been resumed in our house, hurray!

I also tried a Scrub Daddy and didn't like it. Got a new Dishmatic and it's all good so far so they seemed to have fixed whatever went wrong.

Designed obsolescence, so you’ll buy more, hopefully it’s having the opposite effect!!

Not two hours ago, I saw a whole display of many types of dishmatic replacement sponges in B&M Bargains. These were together with a couple of different, but remarkably similar, dishmatic type devices. There was also a big gang of Scrub Daddy and his friends. You'll be spoilt for choice.

I know it sounds crazy, but if you get a bad batch of wand heads, I’ve found that apply just enough pressure to break the plastic right down the middle (“hamburger style”) and it’ll pop right on and stay on
