Hi all,
please can you help, me and my partner are finding it hard to agree on a routine for our son. He is 13 months old. Routine below.

5:30-6:30 - Wakes up
7:30 Breakfast
9-9:30 snack
11:30 Lunch
12-12:30 - 2:30 latest - Nap
2-3 - snack
5-5:30 dinner
7 - bath
7:30-45 - Bed

Sleeps until 12:30am Ona. Good night in his cot. Wakes up 2-3:30 and won’t sleep cries wants a bottle etc.

I personally think he needs 2 short naps one in morning and one in afternoon. By 11 he is unsteady etc. please help just want some to compare to and opinions. We know every baby is different. Many thanks

He likely isn’t getting enough sleep, either 2 naps during the day or one longer is fine, but I’d be bringing bedtime forward to 7pm

5.30am wake up and 7.30pm put down is a very long day!

Him being awake for a long time overnight is a sigh he’s overtired fyi

My ds would have a nap for 3 hours at 13mo. Usually 12/12:30 - 3:30. He would be up for 4 hours in the morning, need a long nap, be awake for another 4 hours then go to bed

I wouldn’t go back to 2 short naps when you’re already getting a good long one after lunch, by 15 months most babies transition to 1 so I’d see that as a backward step that would mess things up more. I would put him to bed earlier- bath and 6 and asleep for 6.30 because often sleep begets sleep with babies. Make dinner really filling- I’m a big fan of cereal for pudding so like weetabix with berries. And then controversial one but I’d go cold turkey on overnight bottles and only offer water. At 13 months and if eating well he really doesn’t need it so it’s probably just a habit and one I’d want to break. First couple of nights will probably be worse but he should adjust once he realises the milk isn’t happening.

But he wouldn't wake until 7:30

I’ll add as well sometimes he has a short nap in morning say 9am, maybe 40 mins then one after lunch 1 hour maybe. Thank you for the replies so far..

Follow his cues, if he is looking tired by 11, put him down for a sleep. At that age mine had two naps, at around 9.30 and 2 ish from what I recall.

This is personally what I think is right for him. Also to cut out contact naps and get him napping in his cot. Like mentioned the wake up at 12:30am he wants to get in with us. And I believe that is the way to break that cycle
