If you could have an alternative fantasy life...

Was thinking about this and mine wouldn't be anything spectacular but I have this fantasy (wouldn't actually swap DH or DC and our life) that I live in a picture perfect cottage in a beautiful English village in the countryside, less than an hour on the train into London.

I have two cats and a high flying job which I go into London to do three days a week and WFH the other two.

I'm single and keep my house beautifully. I have a high income and tiny mortgage.

On weekends I travel to see family, visit friends or see a man I'm in a casual but long term relationship with.

I have a network of friends in the local village and often pop into the pub on quiz nights and am part of the local community.

I watch what I want, eat what I want, go to bed when I want to and wake up when I want to.

What would your fantasy life entail?

Mine would be being single, little cottage etc, but also know of a bolt hole a short flight away on a perfect tropical island with 30 degrees centigrade weather all year.

Oh and I run a cat sanctuary, and rescue dogs.

I live in a cabin by the beach. I know the exact spot. My cabin is off grid. I have dogs and a camper van for adventures.

I would love this to be my retirement, but DH won’t hear of it, even though it is completely achievable.

Me & my husband would have a lovely cottage in the Lakes. And I'd be in better health.

Children successful and stable.
Partner and I travelling.

Mine is similar to yours OP, except not near London and in a modern house.

The best bit is that I have time to read for hours. I also have time to meet friends for brunch after the gym on weekends (instead of rushing through my training to make sure I can drop DD off on time at her dance class, then rush the food shop to make sure I'm on time picking her up)
