At what age do you stop after school care and let your DC come home alone and wait until you get home from work?

It depends on the child and how long they're being left for.

Some children would be happy to walk home and spend an hour or 2 gaming / watching tv. Others might hate being home alone, and would prefer to stay at a club with friends.

I also think the time of year makes a difference. It's much nicer to come home and spend a bit of time at home alone in the summer months than it is in the winter.

Dd started coming home on her own and waiting from year 7.
